La Maison Pierre is one of only four dwellings in the peaceful hamlet of Le Village du Bois in the largely undiscovered Vienne, one of four departments in the beautiful Poitou-Charentes region of mid-western France - the country’s second-sunniest region. Of 18th century origin, the house was sympathetically converted by local craftsmen in 2002 into a 4-star, 3-épis Gîte de France, offering luxury accommodation for up to eight people, with a 12m x 6m heated swimming pool (with safety fence) in the secluded garden. The house also provides table-tennis, swings, paddling pool, boules and a selection of bicycles.
The wildlife in this tranquil area is abundant and rewards the walker, birdwatcher or cyclist with sightings of red squirrels, hoopoes, buzzards, wild boar, deer and hundreds of different butterflies. |
